Modern wireless detectors from Konica AeroDR, Fujifilm FDR D-EVO, and Vieworks are sealed against fluids, rated for drops onto hard floors, and routinely deliver 5 to 8 years of clinical service. ARRAD recommends a spare detector or panel exchange agreement for high-volume sites so a damaged panel never stops imaging.

ISS detectors (Konica AeroDR is the best-known) read out the scintillator from the side closest to the X-ray beam, which improves DQE and lets you reduce patient dose without losing image quality. For pediatric, orthopedic, and high-volume clinics it is a meaningful clinical and regulatory advantage. ARRAD will quote ISS and non-ISS panels side by side.

You can replace your CR reader and cassettes with a wireless DR detector that slides into the existing bucky trays, paired with a new acquisition console. This preserves your generator, tube, table, and wall stand while delivering immediate-preview DR workflow and eliminating CR plate handling. ARRAD packages this as a retrofit and typically completes installation in 1 to 2 days.

A properly installed DR retrofit interfaces only with the generator hand-switch and exposure trigger, leaving the OEM generator and tube alone. Most retrofits do not void existing warranty so long as the work is done by qualified engineers. ARRAD provides written installation documentation and confirms compatibility with your OEM service contract before the project starts.

A new ceiling-suspended DR room from delivery to first clinical exam is usually 5 to 10 business days, including rigging, electrical, generator install, calibration, acceptance testing, and tech training. A CR-to-DR detector retrofit is 1 to 2 days. ARRAD provides a written project schedule with milestones for every install.
